Friday 11th April is World Parkinson’s Day, a national day of awareness to help shine a light on Parkinson’s disease, a progressive neurological condition that affects movement and coordination.

Across the country, events are taking place to raise awareness, including the “Make it Blue” campaign where buildings and landmarks are being lit up in blue in support of those living with Parkinson’s.

We’re pleased to be supporting this day here at the surgery with a special awareness display, in collaboration with MAC Clinical Research.

The display will include:

  • Free information, resources, and merchandise provided by the Parkinson’s charity
  • Friendly staff from MAC available to chat about Parkinson’s and ongoing research
  • A personal touch – handmade blue tulips, knitted and crocheted by a volunteer, inspired by the official Parkinson’s UK pattern

Please do stop by the display if you’re visiting the surgery on the day – everyone is welcome.

Together, we can help raise awareness, support those affected, and be part of a nationwide show of solidarity.
